Think of Me when you Buy Booze

By Jon • Dec 25th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Certain things just get a stronger and stronger hold of me. Things that I remember were  there a long time ago, but then they were just small insignificant quirks that could be ignored. Now some of those things have gotten a much bigger grip and are difficult to ignore.

I seen people give a gift card [...]

The year 2007:
2007 can be quite accurately described by the following graph.

Do you agree?

Hell’s Kitchen

By Jon • Dec 20th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I have been watching some Hell’s Kitchen by recommendation of LB.
I have watched the whole of season 2, and the season 3 finally.
I like this show. There is something very appealing for me with these type of shows.
From before I am a huge Apprentice fan, so it may not be a big difference. But it [...]

Numbing

By Jon • Dec 17th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Have you seen that movie Click:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389860/
It is not a terrible good and funny movie, but it has an interesting concept. That remote control that you can take out, and fast forward over parts of your life that you don’t like.
Idea for new unconsciousness pill:
But with a twist, it could be possible to make such a [...]

Just a couple of days till Santa is giving birth to Jesus again

By Jon • Dec 9th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I am sure if I was 10 years younger I would want a Playstation 3 with the Rock Band game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP25_CcE7Hs
But in recent years I have become very a-materialistic.
And if the materialistic urge would get the better of me I could really just buy the things I want whenever I want. Courtesy of Mr Mastercard. [...]

Piss

By Jon • Dec 3rd, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Piss:
I know this has been discussed previously, but people should wash their hands after going to the toilet. It is very frustrating to not hear any washing sounds before people are coming out of the toilet. Not that I am stalking people, but it is hard to not notice sometimes.

Truth

By Jon • Nov 24th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Sometimes people wants you to confirm a common belief of a group. And I know you can become a “friend” or more accepted if you agree to consensus and just say, “yes”. It would be really easy to just say yes to everything. Go trough life being a nice guy, be polite, fit in, [...]

Don’t have to pay for TV if you don’t want to

By Jon • Nov 21st, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I got a letter from the people that own the place I live.
They are canceling their cabel TV subscription. People will have to get their personal subscription if they want cabel TV.
I think it is good since I don’t like TV, or have a TV.
The rent will then be set down by 100 kr a [...]

Art

By Jon • Nov 10th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I read about Damien Hirst, and it was kinda fascinating. If you are an artist you should become rich on what you do.
Most artists are dead poor. They produce stuff they think are brilliant and possibly some other artists also think their art is brilliant also, but nobody in the real world cares to pay [...]

16:57

By Jon • Nov 9th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I ran 3 km today. I did it in around 16 min and 57 seconds.
I must say that it felt a bit painful and afterwards I felt a big urge to lay down, but there’s really nowhere to lay down at that place.
The world record for the
3000 m is 7:20.67 by Daniel Komen running for [...]

Killing Spree

By Jon • Nov 8th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I read in the tabloids about this Finish guy who killed a lot of people at his school.
I read (http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=183764) that some expert from the Norwegian police, says that this could never happen in Norway because of the welfare system - we have a much better system of catching/dealing/helping people before they go over the [...]

Things

By Jon • Nov 8th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Things on my mind right now:
* I saw two uptight elderly ladies and one much younger black guy sitting together on Grand drinking coffee or something. I thought it looked suspicious.
* I saw one young woman bending down to a women or man that was begging. She was obviously trying to talk to the [...]

Be all (that) you can be

By Jon • Nov 6th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I ran 3.3 km today also. I did it in 2o min.
According to mil.no you need to be able to run 3 km under 14 min to be a admitted to the Norwegian military academy. So that means I ran 3km in 18.1 min, so basically too slow
Maybe I will try another day [...]

Div

By Jon • Nov 3rd, 2007 • Category: Jazz

On Friday, I ran 3.3 km after I red JP’s post about running 6,5 km. I did some machines at the gym also. I realize that running 6.5 km would probably be a bit painful. But it also depends on how fast you run, and if you take walking breaks.
But I am not as serious [...]

The Tartar Steppe

By Jon • Oct 21st, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I read The Tartar Steppe by Dino Buzzati, started on Saturday and finished it on Sunday. 200 pages. I found this book really brilliant.
I find fiction in general very hard to read. Mostly because these books tends to be very far out stories cooked up by some fragile artsy person. They often have stories that [...]

Bacterial warfare

By Jon • Oct 17th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

What everybody was worried about today was the Giardia bacteria. It takes very to upset people. When people have their little bubbles without any danger the human mind has a tendency to becomes ill in itself. Some of the craziness from so called enlightened people: People speculated that you should not shower, because the bacteria [...]

Waste your Waist

By Jon • Oct 11th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Apparently you have to both have a strict diet and also pump those abs to get a great six pack.
It is a while before it is a six pack, but it would be a nice thing to have.
But there is progress without me really taking it seriously. I have not been following a diet, just [...]

10 kr on the street

By Jon • Oct 9th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Today I found 10 Norwegian Krone on the street. It was dark and the place did not have any streetlights close by. But still I saw there was something a bit more shiny than some dirt laying there. It was 10 kr.
It is really great to find money. I know it does not make any [...]

Back in Black

By Jon • Oct 9th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

The reason for the lack of shit here, is basically that the last couple of weeks has been kinda so and so. You have some fun and then you go back to the grind, then there is not much of that getting back situation I wish to carve into stone.
Have been killing in the gym, [...]

The Road Not Taken

By Jon • Sep 30th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Robert Frost (1874–1963). Mountain Interval. 1920.
1. The Road Not Taken
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better [...]

Dying Slowly

By Jon • Sep 26th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I’ve got a chance to totally relax some days, doing nothing, except reading some books. It was good.
I have been a couple of days in Harstad visiting JP. It was cool and a lot of stuff happened. Definitely some nice days.
Here’s a picture of JP’s red fish. Of all his fishes the red, weak and [...]

Permanent Change

By Jon • Sep 26th, 2007 • Category: Jazz

I saw a lot of crappy TV the last couple of days. One program that I remembered was a documentary about the brain. The thesis of this documentary was that stress could permanently change the brain. It was something about the chemicals that were released when you were stressed changed the hippocampus, or something like [...]

Be Winner in a very Broad Sense of Your Life

By Jon • Sep 1st, 2007 • Category: Jazz

What I have come to realize is that it is important to specialize in one thing. Be very good at this one thing. This is likely to be the job.
Then what is equally important is to be able to front a “complete deal” in the other areas of life.
There are number of other important aspects [...]

Overcome the small daily resistances

By Jon • Sep 1st, 2007 • Category: Jazz

Hello there,
I did a quick work out today also.
What I have come to notice is that there is a little resistance in starting to work out. There is a small desire to just skip working out “this time”. This is obviously human weakness. The human attitude is very often to be comfortable.
But when you have [...]
