Other BS

One of the big newspapers in Norway has sent this christmas video calendar where this crazy guy from Norway goes to USA and try to give people he meet this special christmas soft drink.
See vids about this dude.
The series is inadvertently almost like a commercial for this soft drink. And it is made by this [...]

RA3

By Jon • Dec 30th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I bought Red Alert 3 today. It has been ages since I bought a computer game. I kind of look down on people who play video games a lot. But hey, now it is me. It only cost 249 NOK so it is only a couple of beers in price.
It is official. My laptop is [...]

X

By Jon • Dec 24th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I just want to give a shout out to all for Xmas.
I find it kind of rude that people don’t wish for a merry xmas on their blogs.
I am up in the north for a couple of days. It is some snow here, but today it is raining so it is a bit of nasty.

How I Stay Healthy

By Jon • Dec 17th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

There is this box of Christmas cookies just when you come into the building where I work. It seems to be popular, and I think a new box is put out every day.
Anyway, I would never eat any cookies from this where every person that comes in the door has his filthy fingers into the [...]

Christmas Party

By Jon • Dec 12th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Later today it is “Christmastable”, meaning that you get some fancy food and free bar to celebrate that you are alive and it is December. It is one of those corporate events you get invited to.
It is great that I get invited. At this event the rumors are that you get some fancy food, not [...]

The sounds are very funny. You may want to fast forward to around 4:30 if you don’t have time to watch the whole thing.

SV - Christmas Message

By Jon • Dec 1st, 2008 • Category: Jazz

SV is the name of the Socialistic Left party in Norway.
I think some of their agenda has been to be concerned with the environment and have people go away from consumerism that would put a strain on the environment.
Kristin Halvorsen is the leader of the SV party.
Now that she is in cahoots with the other [...]

Within Striking Distance

By Jon • Nov 22nd, 2008 • Category: Jazz

The Norwegian government and the military decided Norway needed the F-35 as its new replacement for the F-16.
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation, single-seat, single-engine, stealth-capable military strike fighter, a multi-role aircraft that can perform close air support, tactical bombing, and air superiority fighter missions.
Strike means bombing. Did you know that? [...]

What I think about Zeitgeist

By Jon • Nov 9th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Yohanez recommended the movie “Zeitgeist” to me, but I had previously seen the second one, “Zeitgeist: Addendum”.
I think “Zeitgeist: Addendum” is a very interesting movie and everybody should look into it. I looked at the first movie also briefly, but it seems more chaotic and tries to discuss a lot of stuff at the same [...]

Ambiguity

By Jon • Nov 7th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Nobody really knows what they voted for.
”The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you—we as a people will get [...]

Change we can believe in

By Jon • Nov 7th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Obama won the election in USA by repeating the word “change” a million times.

Nobody knows what they have voted for.
No track record. He was in the academia for 12 years with no serious publications, only 2 years as a senator, etc.
Got elected by mesmerizing people with words and emotion, not through reasoning and logic. People [...]

Urge to Nest: Buy High

By Jon • Nov 6th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

About a little more than a year ago I was looking around for an apartment. I was considering buying this brand new apartment that was going to be finished in 2010. It was much more expensive, smaller, more trendy, more in central Oslo than the apartment I bought this summer.
The reason I remember is that [...]

October 24, 1929

By Jon • Oct 24th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

It is 79 years today since one of the most notorious stock market crashes started. The day was popularly named “Black Thursday”.
Three phrases - Black Thursday, Black Monday, and Black Tuesday - are used to describe this collapse of stock values. All three are appropriate, for the crash was not a one-day affair. The [...]

The 3 day rule

By Jon • Oct 15th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

If I am going to do something I think that it must be repeated within every 3 days or else it will be very difficult to get started again. Motivation, energy, losing your thread of thought etc.
For each day that goes by it gets harder to get started again. On day 4 for it will [...]

Charismatic Socialists

By Jon • Oct 11th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Socialism
I watched Tv 2 Senkveld where Torvald Stoltenberg was a guest.
I can understand that people would want to vote for a party he would represent. He seems like a very warm and compasionate person. That is also the lure in voting. It is so much about the people. It should be more about policy [...]

List of Norwegian Socialist Reforms

By Jon • Oct 7th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

There are many things going on in Norway right now that are pure communism.
I am considering making a new website that will just list up things that are happening in Norway that are pure blood red evil soviet communism.
I think it will be easy to find a lot of content for this and I [...]

The markets

By Jon • Oct 2nd, 2008 • Category: Jazz

The stock market
It is crazy times right now. I think it is crazier than the after shock in the stock markets after September 11.
A lot of money is disappearing into thin air now.
Something good may come of all the pain. Maybe people will wake up and realize that this mixed economy thing is not [...]

The Government Fund Manager

By Jon • Oct 2nd, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Hegnar Online has run some articles on how much money the Norwegian government pension fund has lost in the various collapsing banks and other stocks. So I suppose the Norwegian government is not such a great fund manager after all.
http://www.hegnar.no/okonomi/politikk/article317305.ece
It is no big surprise that socialists fail when they try to play capitalists.
So this [...]

Week endos

By Jon • Sep 26th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Not much happening that is worth commenting on and I know it tends to be a bit egocentric.
The good thing about having a bike is that you can get around a bit to places where you normally would not go. Sure you can just hop on a buss or subway and go in some random [...]

30 min from today

By Jon • Sep 17th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

Here is a picture of a 30 minutes bike ride from today. It does not say anything about how fast or how far I went which probably would not be that impressing. There are probaby many people who are more fit than me. But it is all about a little work out is better than [...]

Electrolytes

By Jon • Sep 11th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I managed to get a pretty good ride on today.
I am trying to use a a tip from Lance that is not to stand and peddle up hills, but to be seated as much as possible and instead use an easier gear. The reason is that more energy is wasted when standing to peddle.
The thing [...]

There are rumors that Lance Armstrong will come out of retirement in 2009.
That’s great.

The Brain Needs Sugar

By Jon • Sep 5th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I have tried a couple of days to start the day with just some natural corn cereal with milk, then for lunch a salad and some milk, maybe some bread also and some sugar free cola and water after lunch.
The feeling is that it is no problem to sit, and walk around. I walk 20 [...]

Multi plate meals

By Jon • Sep 1st, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I like to eat food from two plates, instead of having one really overfilled plate.
Try it.
That is of course if you don’t have to worry about dishes.
A long time ago people used one screen when they were working on their computer. Now people use two or more screens when they do work that requires more [...]

Here’s another sociopath clip, it’s from Funny Games U.S. :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVKjvdSeObI
You will be killed, but at least you will be killed politely.
Also notice that they are very concerned about not being overweight and chubby. That’s really funny.

Beauty versus Brains

By Jon • Aug 13th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I have identified the important things in our society.
The pillars are Beauty and Brains and to some extent Social Adaptability.
If you have one or more of these things you will be successful. If you have all these traits you will be very successful.
If you are ugly you will have trouble even if you are talented. [...]

Training Shoes on Overweight People looks Dumb

By Jon • Aug 13th, 2008 • Category: Jazz

I have noticed that people that work with computers have a tendency to want to wear running shoes / training shoes and often this is people that are very overweight people. Referred to as “joggesko” in Norwegian. Shoes that look more like running shoes than regular sneakers.
See image for explanation of what kind of shoes [...]
